We all remember her from her Disney days. She became an overnight sensation as part of the Disney Machine. But it all came crashing down and she developed an eating disorder which resulted in self-esteem and body image issues.
This brave young celebrity has finally come through the other side shining, and her career is better than ever!
Being the youngest judge on The X Factor panel has catapulted her into a place bigger than what Disney did.
She recently bared her soul to Teen Vogue about her journey. She attributes all her struggles to becoming a better and stronger person, because it was a huge reality check to lose everything and have to start all over again.
Being so busy with The X Factor she has to be very careful about her eating habits, and above all else she puts her recovery above her career.
She was miserable for such a long time, pretending to be someone she wasn’t. It was almost like she had to lose everything to truly find herself again.
Acknowledging she had problems but being willing to share them made her a more likeable and human person. And now she is more of a role model for what she has been through.
She learned that loving yourself is a very important thing for young women. The media can put so much pressure on us, even celebrities! We need to block out the negative and damaging messages and focus on what is real and helpful.
Demi we love and support you! Keep being an awesome talented beautiful girl, continue with your recovery and don’t let the media get to you to bring you down.
